FTMTA Grass 2010

I.A.M. Agricultural Machinery Ltd. participated at GRASS 2010, Ireland’s national grassland machinery event, which incorporated a working demonstration of grassland machinery with the main emphasis on silage machinery.

FTMTA GRASS 2010 took place on Thursday, May 20 at Gurteen Agricultural College, Ballingarry, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. The college had prepared a large area of grass for the demonstration and static stand area, so that a wide range of machines could be demonstrated.

Over 20Ml.of machinery was on display for the event, which had three aspects to it. While the dominant theme was silage making there was a grass re-seeding demonstration as well as demonstration of slurry spreading techniques. The demonstration plots gave farmers and contractors the best opportunity to assess all the machines in action.

Two Strautmann Pick-Up Silage Wagons were in action on the I.A.M. Demonstration Plot - a Super Vitesse 11 powered by a 120 H.P. New Holland tractor & a Giga Vitesse 11 DUO powered by a 165H.P. Deutz Fahr. Both machines attracted huge interest from the large crowd of approx.9,000 spectators, which included farmers, contractors and machinery dealers from all over Ireland.

Also, on display was the Hustler SL 350 Bale Feeder and all the I.A.M. Sales staff were on hand to discuss the full range of I.A.M. products with interested customers, including the Strautmann Vertimix feeder models, the Bomford hedgecutter / topper range , Hardi crop sprayers - mounted & trailed , Rabe tillage equipment and Sitrex haymakers / finising mowers.

All-in all, FTMTA GRASS 2010 proved to be a huge success for all concerned, held in glorious sunshine, with temperatures in the early to mid twenties throughout the day, which added hugely to the overall success of the event.
